At Jurlique, we have always believed passionately in providing our consumers with highly effective, potent skin care products, developed with respect for our environment and without the use of animal testing.

We adhere to the strict requirements of the European Cosmetics Directive (76/768 ECC) and the European Commission Regulation (1223/2009), which prohibits the commissioning and testing on animals, of products and ingredients, for the purpose of developing new cosmetic products. Our skin care products are tested on consenting human volunteers by means of a “Cumulative Irritation Test” which determines the irritation and/or sensitisation potential of a product after repeated application to the skin of human subjects.

We do not test our cosmetic and therapeutic products on animals as part of our product development process, we do not outsource this activity to any third parties, nor have we ever included animal testing in our product development process in the past. We work closely with our ingredient vendors to ensure they are aware of our company values and policies. We continue to adhere to the strict requirements of global cosmetic regulations regarding animal testing, with utmost respect for our customers and environment.

Additional information relating to local market laws

In China, local laws and regulations require that all cosmetic products imported into China undergo animal testing to demonstrate consumer safety as part of the product registration process.

Finished product samples are required to be submitted to a third party laboratory in China for testing in order to generate a safety profile for the product. This is a mandatory legal requirement applicable to all cosmetic products imported into China.

Considerable research has been undertaken into non-animal testing alternatives and China’s Food and Drug Administration, or CFDA has recently implemented a new registration process for certain cosmetics produced in China which means that animal testing will no longer be mandatory for these products. We are encouraged by this progress and are eager to see China amend its laws to extend this to allow alternatives to animal testing for imported cosmetic products. We will work closely with our Chinese agent to ensure that the alternative testing methods are utilised for our products as they are approved.

We only offer gift wrapping at our Jurlique Standalone Stores. We do not offer gift wrapping for any online purchases. Our online invoices do not include prices.

To ensure you have time to unwind and enjoy a skin consultation with your Jurlique Beauty Therapist, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment. Please understand that if you arrive late, your treatment time may need to be reduced accordingly. Mobile phones should be switched off when entering the treatment area. Children under sixteen must be accompanied by an adult.

Your enjoyment and privacy are important to us. Please let your Beauty Therapist know if there is anything we can do to improve your comfort during your treatment.

For your safety, please inform your Jurlique Beauty Therapist of any health conditions so that we can customize your treatment accordingly. If you are currently under medical supervision, undergoing treatment from your health care practitioner for any condition, or if you suffer from allergies, physical ailments or are pregnant, some treatments may not be advisable.

Please contact your Jurlique Beauty Therapist directly prior to your appointment.

If you are pregnant some treatments are not recommended for women in their first trimester and some facial treatments are not recommended whilst pregnant. We will ensure your treatment is customised to suit you.

Should you need to reschedule, cancel or amend your appointment 24 hours’ notice is required. Cancellations or rescheduling with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a 50% cancellation fee.

Strict hygiene practices in compliance with Government Public Health Regulations are applied in our concept stores and spas.

  • Benches and treatment surfaces are cleaned regularly with anti-bacterial, hospital grade disinfectant and 70% alcohol wipes
  • Sterilization and sanitization of tools and equipment after each client
  • Thorough hand sanitization methods by all clients and team members
  • Towels, linen and robes are newly laundered and changed between each client
  • Disposable hygiene tools and single use items will be used in the treatment room and retail areas
  • Additional hand sanitizer stations available for customers
  • Product testers are available for self-application by customers and will be sanitized after each use
  • We have imposed an isolation period for any Jurlique team member who is showing symptoms of cold, flu or fever
  • Client pre-treatment health history updated at every client visit.
  • Extra time allowed between treatments for thorough treatment room cleaning and no client waiting periods.
  • All touch points including treatment beds, seating areas, door handles, benches will be disinfected with 70% alcohol after each client.

  • Clients cannot be accompanied by friends or family (including children)
  • Clients will be required to sanitize their hands on entry to the store and will be asked to wash their hands on entry to the treatment room
  • Clients will need to cancel their treatment if showing any symptoms of cold or flu
  • Towels, linen and robes are newly laundered and changed between each client
  • There will be no self-service of beverages
  • Social distancing guidelines of 1.5mtrs will be followed in the retail areas

Farm Tour

You can book a Jurlique Farm Tour three ways:

Farm tours are held at the Jurlique Farm which is located at 31 Liebelt Road, Biggs Flat SA 5153.

The Farm is a 10 minute drive from Hahndorf and 40 minutes drive from the Adelaide CBD.

Catch the 864 bus from Adelaide to Hahndorf then catch a pre-booked taxi to the Jurlique Farm.

Alternatively, please contact the Adelaide Hills Visitor Information Centre.They can book your tour and provide a list of companies who can organise transportation.

This is a requirement for your own comfort and safety. Jurlique have the right to refuse you entry on the tour.

No food is provided on the tour. Please bring any food or drinks you require with you on the tour. Herbal teas are provided at the end of the tour.

Yes, the tour is available for children of all ages with suitable supervision. Children under 16 are free.

Please note: Pram access is limited due to rough terrain.

Tours will only be cancelled on Catastrophic Fire Days or due to extreme weather. In this case you will be contacted prior to the tour and you may either reschedule your tour or accept a full refund.

The tour length is approximately 600 metres and there are no special fitness requirements.

Unfortunately no. Paths on the tour are rough gravel and are not suitable for wheelchairs.

Yes. However if you suffer from hay fever we recommend you take any required medication prior to arrival at the Jurlique Farm.

Yes, at the conclusion of the tour the Farm Retail Shop will be open where you can purchase a selected range of products.

You will see different plants at different times of the year. As a guide, October, November and December are the busiest harvest times and when the majority of plants are in flower. However Jurlique Farm tours are an all year round experience, and there is always something to see on the tour.

Harvest Guide

Spring: The harvesting season commences in spring (September, October and November) with the picking of flowers such as sweet violets, daisy and heartsease. This is followed as the season warms with Calendula, Roses, Chamomile, Black elder flower, Yarrow, Red clover and Lavender. Over the same period leaves are picked from Peppermint, Birch, Lemon balm, Sweet violet, Nettle and Ivy.

Summer, Autumn, Winter: Some herbs require us to pick the whole top part of the plant when it is in full flower as these herbs are full of medicinal qualities. These are Self heal, Echinacea, Rosemary, Marjoram, Plantain, Thyme and Sage. This will happen over the growing season early summer to early spring depending on the species.

Winter: Roots are harvested in the winter when the plants have died back and all the nutrients from the past season are stored in the root system. Marshmallow, Comfrey, Liquorice, Dandelion, Echinacea and Burdock are harvested each winter.

Unfortunately No. Our Jurlique products are manufactured and filled at our Mt Barker production facility which is not part of the tour. The tour is of the Jurlique Farm where we grow ingredients and create the herbal base for our skin care products. However as part of the Jurlique Farm tour your guide will talk you through the manufacturing process.
