1. Eat a balanced diet

It goes without saying doesn’t it? But this seemingly simple task can be the hardest to meet. Well, we’ve got some good news. You don’t need to go on a diet. Diets are known to be ineffective and often don’t work well in the long run. Transition to a balanced diet instead and make sure you’re getting the recommended servings of the five food groups. Include cooked or raw vegetables in your daily meals; grab a piece of fresh fruit (instead of juice or dried fruit); and match your proteins with grain foods – ideally wholegrains with 3g or more of fibre per serve. Try eggs (yolk and all), lean meats and poultry or fish high in fatty acids (like salmon and tuna) for your serve of protein. If you’re looking for a non-meat option then tofu, nuts, seeds, legumes and beans are a great alternative. Finally, add in some dairy, whether it’s yoghurt in the morning or topping off your meal with cheese.

2. Love your gut

Gut health is incredibly important for the overall health of your body, and an unhealthy gut has been linked to chronic disease. One of the best ways to improve your gut health is to feed it. 4. Sleep long and deeply
